Antique French portable shrine or travel altar featuring a crucifix with Virgin Mary & Saint Joseph.
It is made of wood and leather with a deep red velvet interior.
The central part displays a wooden cross with a silver-plated figure of Jesus.
The letters "INRI" are inscribed at the top of the cross.
Two side panels contain figures, of Virgin Mary and St Joseph.
Such items were used for personal devotion, especially while traveling.
